This marks the end of the fourth week of this project. And while this was initially supposed to be the final week of the project, because of scheduling conflicts my project has been extended one more week. You can view the previous week’s update here, or check out my entire month’s work here!

What I Set Out to Accomplish

Based on my original outline and my revised plans after last week, my goals this week were to:

• Create a video tutorial for Canva

• Create a video tutorial for Adobe Photoshop

• Create a video tutorial for iMovie

• Write an additional post about visual storytelling

• Write a weekly update post

• Finalize my landing page on Wix

What I Actually Accomplished

This week I had a lot of success in completing my goals!

I completed both video tutorials for Canva and Photoshop and made each software tutorial applicable and relevant to any user. Take a look at the videos I made on Canva and Photoshop here!

Unfortunately, I did not complete my iMovie Loom video this week.

​

I also wrote a post on the power of visual storytelling looking at ancient storytelling and how it applies to my project. And although I would have liked to write more posts on what I learned last week, I spent most of my time preparing for the video editing that I would have to do the following week.

And finally as planned, I created a landing page on Wix to bring it all together and present my work from this month. Check it out!

What I Learned This Week

This week really drove home a few things for me.

• It’s important to set reasonable expectations when learning complicated tech tools in order to avoid frustration or burnout.

• Although I learned a lot about Adobe, Canva, and iMovie, I spent so much time trying to learn about the tools that I was not able to spend as much time prepping for my video shoot the following week. In short, I learned the importance of time management.

Plans for Next Week

As I said before, because my project was extended another week, my plans for next week are to finish the interviews at the zoo and complete the finished video.
